Zain Omantel International

In May 2023, Zain and Omantel incorporated a new joint venture called Zain Omantel International. Zain Group owns 74% and Omantel owns 26% of the joint venture. The purpose of the joint venture is to manage Omantel and Zain’s international wholesale requirements across eight markets, serving over 55 million customers which will create a better economy of scale value to the JV partners. The JV will focus on increasing the revenues on international capacity business by leveraging on the existing asset base of Omantel, investing and capitalizing on the growth opportunities in markets where Zain Opcos operate.  The JV also focuses on reducing the costs of Omantel and Zain Group in their retail business (i.e. international voice business and roaming costs). This arrangement will not impact the ownership over the existing assets serving the international wholesale requirements of both Zain Group and Omantel.

Oman Data Park LLC

Oman Data Park LLC (“Oman Data Park”) was established in 2011 in Oman as a joint venture between Omantel and 4Trust LLC (a subsidiary of National Trading Co). The company is engaged in the development of ICT capabilities and the provision of data services. Oman Data Park’s primary services include managing a portfolio of ICT services, including managed hosting, cloud services, hosted applications and managed services, as well as setting up, operating and managing data centres, and providing co-location, disaster recovery, and other related services to corporate clients.

Infoline LLC

A Joint Venture creation of Ingenuity Technologies, Oman Telecommunication Company and Public Establishment of Industrial Estate, Infoline LLC is a leading organization in Oman catering to Information Technology and Outsourcing needs of the companies across all verticals.

Global Financial Technology LLC

In 2022 Omantel acquired a controlling stake of 55% in Global Financial Technology LLC which is established in Oman and is engaged in payment gateway solutions with a license from Central Bank of Oman.

Global Financial Technology LLC is a payment service provider (PSP) based in Muscat, which provides fintech services through its wallet and payment gateway. It was founded by Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) and Abdulaziz Al Rawahi. The company is the owner of OMPay (stands for Oman Pay) brand and Lamma chat, Oman’s first super app that offers mobile payment services in the form of a digital wallet to consumers and enables merchants to receive payments through its NFC, QR code, point of sale, bank transfer and online payment gateway offerings.

Omantel International Limited

Omantel International Limited was established in 2018 in the Cayman Islands and is engaged in Omantel’s international wholesale voice business.  The Company has 100+ interconnection arrangements with international operators and is engaged in providing international voice services.

Frontier Technology Solutions LLC

In year 2022 Omantel acquired a controlling stake of 51% in Frontier Technology Solutions LLC which is established in Oman and is engaged in the provision of ICT services.

Omantel France SAS

Omantel France was established in 2014 in France and is engaged in the provision of wholesale services, specifically selling network capacity to operators in Europe. Omantel France is responsible for landing and maintaining the AAE-1 cable in France. The establishment of Omantel France provides Omantel with worldwide recognition by becoming the only Middle Eastern operator to build a presence in the EU and by providing open access into the EU to all other operators in the AAE-1 consortium. The AAE-1 cable commenced operations in June 2017.
